Gilded annual report

The highlight of the year for our clients St Mary’s University College was the visit of the Pope in September 2010. Their new annual report reflects the significance of this event to the college and all looks set fair for the college to continue its growth and development. We’ve worked with St Mary’s for many years on a wide range of branding aspects and look forward continuing to help them communicate, as the Vatican says, “their outstanding contribution to Catholic education.”

We started working with Bath Spa University in 2004 and were instrumental in helping to launch their development from a University College to one of the UK’s fastest growing universities. Our latest project for/with them has been the creation of the 2011 undergraduate prospectus.

Tactile brand extension

Phase III of the £27 million pound Butterfly World project in Hertfordshire opens in April of this year. As part of our work for this fascinating client of ours we have recently created business cards that powerfully communicate the essence of the brand. Carrying through the strong identity of butterfly wings visually, we’ve added a tactile element by mimicking the ‘feel’ of a butterfly wing using a velvet laminate. The end result is a distinctive business card that is more than just a ‘leave behind’. It communicates the brand in one small package.

We have been commissioned to design strategic internal communication material and are thoroughly enjoying working with the country's favourite charity.

The farming world

The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) is an Executive Agency of Defra and provides services such as rural payments, rural inspections and livestock tracing. They came to us to develop a range of internal communication material to illustrate organisational change. These included an organisation chart, supporting diagrams, a 'route map' of change and the development of a poster campaign and poster templates. All very straightforward requirements, but with the application of design, the diagrams translated hundreds of words into engaging and informative pictures that helped to smooth the path of change.

Evolving brand

We created and implemented an award-winning new brand identity for 2008 British Glass Biennale, the UK's biggest selling exhibition of contemporary glass. As you would expect the 2010 Biennale is on the brew and we are busy developing and evolving the brand to create impact for September. We're working on their sumptuous exhibition catalogue, associated advertising, marketing material and exhibition graphics.

Design solutions

The brief from our client St Mary's University College, London for the new post-graduate prospectus was challenging. It had to be smaller than the previous A4 design to save on production and postage costs. Folded leaflets and  a CD had to travel with the prospectus. It had to be sturdy to withstand international mailing tribulations, distinctive, on brand and inspiring.
